"A busy four days! We immersed ourselves in history with the arts as our guide. “Singing, dance and visual art preserves culture”. I would add that art is what remains after a civilization has died out. We saw the art, music and dance of many…"
"Creative Classes: An Artful Approach to Improving Performance by Elizabeth Blair is an article that describes the work done by the Turnaround Arts Initiative. The initiative is located in eight schools in depressed areas and tries to replicate the…"
"I like the activities that offer a silent activity followed by discussion. I, like many students, find it challenging to volunteer in discussion but the opportunity to see photos or hear voices from the past helps form ideas to share when…"
"So this is what the rest of the world was doing while I practiced the violin!
The dances are fun and not so constricting. I think that students would enjoy these "non touching" dances more than the partner dances. The steps are easier to…"
"I am amazed at the very quick changes during this period of time. Did changes in music inspire changes in fashion, etc, or did changes in fashion inspire music style?
I have new respect for those who can dance the Charleston well! I enjoyed the…"
"Jump, Jim, Joe and Lucky Seven and Turkey Dance - all easy dances, easy to teach and fun for all. The days following concerts are difficult in instrumental classrooms. I can visualize teaching a reel or jig to an orchestra class, then teaching…"
"A practical model for the design of school programs/concerts is to "make the audience leave wanting more." That is how I felt at the end of the afternoon. We heard the interview of Bob Ledbetter, I would have enjoyed the comparison of a few more. …"
"The waltz is fun but scary - the many stylistic and socially inflicted guidelines are imposing, even choosing a dance partner is a daunting! Despite all, the dance itself is elegant, graceful and delightful. By contrast, the reel has few…"
"I know the music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras pretty well but the time periods came to life when adding the art and dance elements. The tableau exercise brought the works of art to life and forced us to solve many problems: finding the…"
"I enjoyed all of the morning activities! The magazine activity was a good reminder to be careful in the classroom not to share our own bias (and prejudice?). I was in the partnership that looked at "Men's Health" and realized after the discussion…"

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you,but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( pollardjames95@gmail.com ) for the full details.Have a nice day Thanks God bless.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments - both written and spoken -during our class! I appreciate your insights and teaching expertise!
Great idea to use a page of sheet music as the "map" to be pieced together by students! I look forward to using that in my classroom. Another excellent classroom application is teaching your class fiddle tunes and have half of the dance while the other half plays. Fun and perfect for post-concert teaching days!
Your reflections on Civil War and the early 20th Century were terrific! So glad those eras and the activities we shared were valuable to you.
I hope your trip to Israel is wonderful! What an amazing trip it will be.
