Note from Robyn

Good morning, everyone.

I just wanted to leave a few quick notes. I will also be posting these on the group page, but I have to decide where, so that it doesn't get missed.
Now that we are into week 2, and everyone has had a chance to break the ice, Carol and I will be easing back just a little. For example, we may not reply to every post by every person. These are discussion forums; just as in a conference, not everyone replies to everybody's comment. One of the exciting features of this format is that it provides the opportunity for you to develop as peers and feed off each other's thoughts and responses. While there is not a mandatory posting requirement, the more that people engage, the better it is. We most certainly are going to continue to post but we don't want to stifle any creative conversation.
Secondly, in planning my work week, you may see the most responses on the board from me on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I want to be able to really dedicate my thoughts to you and give you the attention you deserve, so by planning my week around that, I can make sure that I’m really doing that, rather than thinking about such things like databases, editing, and fielding phone calls. This doesn’t mean that you can’t contact me on any other given day; it just means that you will see me at my most active on those days. If you need to reach me, by all means, do so. It’s what I am here for.

Last, the upcoming assignment for week three is large, with a lot of material, but I’m pretty sure that it’s the biggest of the weeks. Don’t let it intimidate you. We have some great teachers here, and I absolutely love that we have the spread that we do. It creates an environment where we can learn from each other and be provided a glimpse to the “other side of the fence” if you will. We have just about every area of k-12 education represented, except for homeschoolers. Whether you are new, administrative, elementary, high school or eyeballing retirement, you’ve got something valuable to share and we all want to hear what you’ve got to say.

Ok, off to write you more great learning material!

Be safe this weekend,

--Robyn
