The real work of AK-CSS development comes through high functioning committees. These work groups are where the majority of the energy to set, act and assess our collaborative goals needs to be focused this year. The executive board exists to oversee all major commitments of council time and energy, but the nuts and bolts work of getting things done is coordinated currently through our 2 (Current) Standing Committees:
- Information & Resources,
- Recruitment and Membership

Because of the impact of the pandemic on our school systems, we have put our other standing committee (Professional Development) in temporary hibernation until we have more volunteers helping with the work...

We also have had two Ad Hoc Project committees, commisioned by the council board to coordinate special AK-CSS projects. These Ad Hoc work groups have either limited or seasonal durations. To this point they are:
- AK-CSS iDidaContest Design Challenge
- Alaskan S.S.Educational Policy Advocacy

We need to get ALL of these work groups firing on all cylinders now, so we can set our goals for the next school year in each group. Only then can each group generate a set of "next tasks" for for ACTIONS in the coming months....
